All the Captive Girls

He Captured her family. She'll steal back her treasure.

PLOT

He’ll take who you love.

From Emmy Award–winning journalist Linda Hurtado Bond comes a ferocious, terrifying game where your own eyes can deceive you…and a killer will watch every move you make.

Tampa Bay crime reporter Mari Alvarez thought the worst was behind her. She thought she could return to work, her sister, her friends, and her still-undefined relationship with Detective Tony Garcia. To find something almost normal…until a killer everyone thought was dead contacts her.

Because he wants to play a game—a twisted dance of revenge, where Mari must play by the rules…or lose everyone and everything she loves.

Now Tampa Bay’s lively Gasparilla pirate festival has turned into an event filled with terror and horror, and Mari is the unwitting star. Every move she makes is being watched by social media, even as the killer twists the truth and manipulates her with lies, deepfakes, and misinformation.

He can take her job. He can take her reputation. He can take everyone who loves her.

And unless she can stop him, he’ll hold her captive in the one cage she won’t be able to escape: her own fear.

great book!
Praise for the book #AllTheCaptiveGirls by #LindaHurtadoBond. Filled with drama, lies and murder leading up to the ending I didn’t expect. Mari was just getting used things calming down after a trip away to Cuba until a killer from her past re-emerges. Now, nobody close to her is safe. He is playing games with her and everything is at stake. He has the ability to take everyone she loves and everything to do with her away. Can she catch him before he destroys her?

Incredible Story!
OMG! LOVED LOVED LOVED, I couldn't ask for more with this sequel. I am so in love with this series because of the beautifully crafted suspense in this book. I really loved being dropped back into the action of the ending of the first book. What I loved most about this series is where its set, which all hits so close to home, being Cuban, born in Tampa and now in Miami; it just wrapped me in my safety blanket of what I know and love. This story was woven so well and I loved the writing style Linda implements so gracefully. Not only was it fast paced, but full of suspense and has you worrying so much for these loveable characters. I loved the artificial intelligence implementation because it can ruin people's lives and you don't even realize how detrimental it could really be for society. Not only did it really make me go into a deep reflection of the work that I know as a freelancer working with AI, but it helped me think about the worst that could happen. These stories are so heavily realistic and truly make you think about the things that could really come to life and happen to you. PS. READ THE PREV BOOK SO YOU AREN'T CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON Thank you to the publisher for so gracefully providing this arc that I devoured VERY fast.

Very thrilling.
All the Captive Girls was an amazing, fast paced, crime thriller. The story is engaging and keeps the reader hooked to the story. Mari is being stalked by a serial killer. Using deep AI, he's able to fake videos and. photos showing the world that she's an accomplice to his crimes. But when he kidnaps friends and holds her sister hostage, she does whatever it takes to save them, including putting her life on the line! I read this as a standalone, but I kept getting the feeling that maybe there's another book to the series that I should have read prior. There's a lot of talk about an incident that happened in Cuba and a couple other things that left me feeling a little out of place. The story also has a little romance between Mari, Tony, and Matt. Mari has been trying to build something with Toni for about 2 years now with no progress, as he comes across as disinterested in her in the book. Matt on the other hand, is known as a play boy and gives her all the attention she craves. There is a lot of talk about AI in this story and how people can benefit from it as well as how it can destroy lives. I really enjoyed that aspect of the story. The characters are well written and for all the technological things going on in this book, the author did a great job of being detailed and keeping the flow of the story.
